Join Our Friendly Team: Catering Assistant at Denstone College
Set within 150 acres of beautiful rural Staffordshire, Denstone College is a thriving independent boarding and day school. We are currently looking for a hardworking Catering Assistant to join our friendly and supportive catering family. If you are eager to work in the hospitality sector but crave a better work-life balance than the industry standard, we would love to hear from you!
Pay & Schedule
- Contract: Term time contract, 40 weeks per year.
- Pay: £13.45 per hour.
- Hours: 17.5

What You Will Be Doing
In this varied and active role, you will help us provide a high standard of culinary produce in a healthy, hygienic environment. Your key duties will include:
- Assisting in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the Catering Department and Dining Hall.
- Washing, cleaning, and drying equipment, crockery, cutlery, and glassware.
- Assisting with the preparation, transportation, and serving of food and beverages for College staff, pupils, and special functions.
- Setting and clearing tables, as well as handling and storing food deliveries correctly.
- Delivering polite, courteous, and efficient customer service at all times.

What You Bring to the Table
We are looking for someone with a friendly, approachable, "can-do" attitude. The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a similar hospitality role and a Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate (this is desired, but not essential as full training is provided!).
- The ability to handle a busy service and support the team in meal preparation.
- Flexibility to switch between tasks at short notice and respond to unplanned situations.
- The ability to work seamlessly as part of a team, while also using initiative to work unsupervised when needed.
- A solid understanding of Health and Safety procedures.
