Company Description

Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness, they are likely to die from.

The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life. Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives. We want a different society than the one we live in now. Our mission for the next five years is to close the gap in the number of people missing out on what they need at the end-of-life.

Job Description

Your role in our mission

We are recruiting Catering Assistants to join the Facilities Team at our Outstanding CQC rated Hospice in West Midlands. The Marie Curie West Midlands Hospice offers exceptional care in a welcoming environment for people with life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones.

As a member of our catering team, you will assist in the daily provision of catering services across the Hospice, including ward-based service and café support, catering to our patients, their families, visitors, volunteers and hospice staff. Your role will be crucial in maintaining our level 5 food hygiene rating and our commitment to delivering consistently high-quality food service.

You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen, performing general kitchen duties, food preparation, and cooking simple meals under the direction of the Head Chef/Chef. Flexibility, presentation and organisation are essential.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
