Role Description
The Catering Barista is a full-time, on-site role located in Jersey Marine, responsible for:
- Preparing and serving a range of hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based drinks, teas, and specialty coffees.
- Setting up and breaking down catering stations.
- Supporting food preparation for events.
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in all service areas.
- Ensuring equipment is properly operated and cared for.
- Greeting guests, taking orders, handling payments, and providing attentive customer service during café service and catered functions.
- Collaborating with the wider team to support events, manage stock levels, follow health and safety standards, and uphold Cafe Jac’s quality and presentation expectations.

- Strong Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills to create a welcoming, responsive, and professional guest experience.
- Barista skills, including espresso machine operation, drink preparation, and basic equipment maintenance.
- Clear Communication skills for coordinating with team members, understanding event requirements, and interacting with guests.
- Food Preparation skills for assisting with simple food items, snacks, and plated offerings in a catering environment.
- Ability to work on-site full time, including occasional evenings or weekends for events, with reliable punctuality.
- Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices; formal certification is an advantage.
- Experience in café, catering, or hospitality settings is preferred but not required for motivated candidates.
- Capacity to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
