Cafe Jac is a hospitality company based at the Jersey Arts Centre on Phillips Street in St. Helier, Jersey, United Kingdom. Role Description

The Catering Barista is a full-time, on-site role located in Jersey Marine, responsible for:

  • Preparing and serving a range of hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based drinks, teas, and specialty coffees.
  • Setting up and breaking down catering stations.
  • Supporting food preparation for events.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in all service areas.
  • Ensuring equipment is properly operated and cared for.
  • Greeting guests, taking orders, handling payments, and providing attentive customer service during café service and catered functions.
  • Collaborating with the wider team to support events, manage stock levels, follow health and safety standards, and uphold Cafe Jac’s quality and presentation expectations.

  • Strong Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills to create a welcoming, responsive, and professional guest experience.
  • Barista skills, including espresso machine operation, drink preparation, and basic equipment maintenance.
  • Clear Communication skills for coordinating with team members, understanding event requirements, and interacting with guests.
  • Food Preparation skills for assisting with simple food items, snacks, and plated offerings in a catering environment.
  • Ability to work on-site full time, including occasional evenings or weekends for events, with reliable punctuality.
  • Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices; formal certification is an advantage.
  • Experience in café, catering, or hospitality settings is preferred but not required for motivated candidates.
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
