Catering Engineer
Meridian are working with a well-established and growing M&E contractor originally from the North-west, who have an established team of M&E engineers in the Oxford and surrounding region which is now once again growing. This role will involve installation, servicing, and maintenance of commercial and domestic catering equipment in the region. If you are looking for an autonomous role with regionalised work whilst joining a growing company, then this role is perfect for you!

- Starting salary c.£48k - £50k p.a (Dependant on experience)

Requirements for this role
- Relevant M&E qualifications such as: NVQ, CSCS or JIB card, City & Guilds, F-Gas/ACS Gas etc.
- COMCAT or ACS Gas and Appliance qualifications
- Experience working on catering equipment and appliances e.g. ovens, refrigeration units, dishwashers, and air conditioning systems
- Experience working off FM or building services apps such as CAFM systems and Ostara
- Ability to work independently to high standards and time restraints
- Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and electrical wiring diagrams essential for accurate diagnostics.
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Excellent timekeeping and customer-service skills
Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all catering equipment, including ovens, refrigeration units, dishwashers, and air conditioning systems
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues promptly to minimise downtime and ensure continuous operation
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot complex systems effectively
- Lead maintenance tasks by coordinating with team members or contractors during construction or installation projects related to catering facilities
- Oversee the upkeep of air conditioning units and other climate control systems to maintain optimal working conditions
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and equipment history for compliance and future reference
- Respond swiftly to emergency breakdowns or safety concerns to uphold operational standards and safety regulations
