Description

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Catering Operations Assistant to play a vital role in supporting our elite football programmes. Working across training grounds, match venues, and club locations, you will ensure the seamless delivery of meals, refreshments, and catering supplies to players and staff, helping to maintain the highest standards of service in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

Key Responsibilities

Catering Operations & Food Delivery

  • Deliver meals, snacks, hydration products, and catering supplies to support the Men's First Team, Women's First Team, and Academy programmes.
  • Ensure all food deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time for training sessions, matches, travel, and events.
  • Support the day-to-day operation of the catering department by assisting with food distribution across multiple club locations.
  • Work closely with chefs and catering teams to ensure orders are delivered accurately and in line with operational requirements.
  • Take responsibility for the smooth running of food delivery operations when required.
  • Work flexibly, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, to meet the demands of the football calendar.

Matchday & Training Ground Support

  • Support matchday catering operations for the Men's First Team, Women's First Team, and Academy fixtures.
  • Assist with the transportation and setup of catering equipment, food, and refreshments at training grounds and match venues.
  • Ensure all deliveries are presented professionally and meet the expectations of elite sporting environments.

Vehicle & Equipment Responsibility

  • Carry out routine checks of delivery vehicles to ensure they are clean, safe, and ready for operational use.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within vehicles used for food transportation.
  • Report any vehicle or equipment issues promptly to ensure minimal disruption to service.

Food Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures when handling and transporting food.
  • Ensure food is transported and stored in accordance with required temperature and quality standards.
  • Report any incidents, concerns, or compliance issues to the Catering Operations Manager.

Operational Support

  • Respond to last-minute operational requirements, schedule changes, and urgent delivery requests.
  • Support the wider catering team with additional duties during busy periods and major events.
  • Help maintain a consistently high standard of service across all catering operations.

Administrative Duties

  • Complete delivery records, vehicle logs, and other operational paperwork as required.
  • Assist with stock movements and inventory tracking where necessary.
  • Support the Catering Operations Manager with general administrative tasks relating to department operations.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Full UK driving licence with a safe and responsible driving record
  • Experience in delivery driving, logistics, catering, hospitality, or customer service environments
  • Excellent time management and ability to work to strict schedules
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to load, unload, and transport catering equipment and supplies safely
  • Good communication skills and a professional manner when interacting with venue teams and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative while on the road
  • Knowledge of vehicle safety checks and basic maintenance procedures
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing operational requirements
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering high standards of service
