Catering Operations Manager - Remote with Travel Throughout the UK & Ireland
Our client is seeking an experienced Catering Operations Manager to lead the planning and delivery of catering, hospitality, and associated services across a portfolio of prestigious championship events.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of world-class sporting events, working with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to create exceptional experiences for players, guests, VIPs, and spectators. The position is primarily remote during planning phases, with significant on-site involvement during event delivery periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, scoping, and operational delivery of catering services for major championship events across 12 to 24-month planning cycles.
- Manage relationships with caterers, contractors, venues, and key stakeholders to ensure seamless event execution.
- Oversee catering concepts, menu development, and hospitality requirements across a variety of customer groups, including players, guests, hospitality clients, and spectators.
- Coordinate the appointment and management of catering providers, contractors, and infrastructure suppliers, ensuring compliance with procurement and contractual requirements.
- Support the creation and design of operational layouts for hospitality environments, kitchens, catering facilities, and event infrastructure.
- Lead planning meetings, manage project timelines, and coordinate multiple workstreams to ensure successful delivery.
- Oversee event build, operational delivery, and de-rig activities on-site, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Act as the escalation point for catering operational matters during events and provide solutions to complex challenges.
- Monitor performance, review event outcomes, and identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and customer experience.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience managing catering or hospitality operations within a major events environment.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
- Experience working with contractors, suppliers, and service providers in a complex operational setting.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience working with senior stakeholders and high-profile guests.
- Strong commercial awareness and budget management experience.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
