About The Role
Catering Operations Manager at Uttoxeter Racecourse is responsible for overseeing all catering operations, including in-house and third-party concessions, race days, and events. The role involves working closely with the Executive Director, Regional Catering and Events Manager, and the Head of Group Catering and Events.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the site Executive Director in implementing the catering strategy, ensuring alignment with Group objectives and commercial targets.
- Establish and enhance performance monitoring frameworks to improve service delivery, food quality, and customer experience.
- Lead workforce planning, ensuring effective rotas and control of labour costs.
- Collaborate with Sales teams to optimize catering delivery for all events.
- Provide leadership for high-volume operations, ensuring successful event planning and delivery.
- Develop direct reports through performance and development reviews.
- Maintain strong financial governance and identify new commercial opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with allergen regulations and accurate information across platforms.

The Person We Are Looking For
- Proven experience in a leisure, sporting, or event-led environment with over 5,000 attendees.
- Strong background in high-volume catering and multi-format hospitality.
- Experience managing large-scale event delivery, including planning, execution, and breakdown.
- Track record of managing labor and costs within budget.
- Effective leader with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organized, process-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- GCSE Grade C (equivalent) or above in Maths and English.
- Full UK driving license.
- Flexible to work across race days, events, and weekends.
