Central Park Greyhound Stadium are looking for lively and hardworking people to join our staff.

The Role

The Catering Operations Manager will work closely with the Duty Manager & Regional General Manager in undertaking the smooth running of the site during race meetings and non-racing events, and will take the lead on all matters regarding Health and Safety and work alongside the DM with Hospitality. Supporting the regional general manager across racing and track matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the company’s health and safety management system.
  • Responsible for implementing emergency procedures in line with the Group Health and Safety policy for all eventualities including race days, events and venue hire.
  • Work with the management team managing race day staff and safety stewards including recruitment and training and monitor and manage standards of the third-party security team.
  • Ensure there is an on-going maintenance programme that suits the demands of the business.
  • Work with the DM to ensure the annual targets are met for key operational lines, offering a narrative to your proposals and showing evidence of best business practice and cost controls.
  • Recruit new staff as appropriate, delegate responsibility to your team, monitor performance levels, motivate and hold regular briefings.
  • Responsible for reviewing, reporting and investigating accidents and incidents.
  • To ensure that the best methods, practices and systems of work are being utilised and to maintain detailed records of work completed in each area.
  • To ensure that the product is delivered efficiently and exceeds customer expectations and ensure that we provide excellent customer service and standards at all times and that the team are clear on the expectations.
  • Attend and respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.
  • Identify and manage capital expenditure projects for the site that will increase efficiency, profitability and enhance the customer experience.
  • Maintain and promote the highest welfare standards across racing and retirement.
  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
  • Act as a representative for the stadia and ARC at all times, leading by example to all other team members.

Qualifications

  • Personal License Holder
  • Level 4 Food Management in food Safety preferred, Level 3 minimum.
  • Level 3 HACCP
  • Allergens qualification

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Racecourse, Sport, Leisure or hotel background would be an advantage.
  • High level of interpersonal skills.
