Nether Stowe School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and experienced Catering Supervisor to join our dedicated catering team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who takes pride in delivering a high-quality catering service and enjoys working in a busy school environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring that pupils and staff receive a welcoming, efficient and positive lunchtime experience. As Catering Supervisor, you will support the day-to-day running of the school catering service, helping to ensure that meals are prepared and served to a high standard and that all food hygiene, health and safety requirements are consistently met.
About The Role
You will be responsible for supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the catering service, including:
- Supervising and supporting catering staff to ensure an effective and well-organised service.
- Assisting with the preparation and service of food to a high standard.
- Ensuring food hygiene, health and safety and cleanliness standards are maintained.
- Supporting stock control, ordering and monitoring of food supplies where required.
- Helping to ensure appropriate procedures are followed for allergens and dietary requirements.
- Providing a friendly and welcoming service to pupils and staff.
- Supporting the team to maintain a clean, safe and well-organised kitchen and dining environment.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the catering service runs efficiently each day.

About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working in a catering environment, ideally with experience of supervising or supporting a team.
- Has a good understanding of food hygiene, health and safety and allergen requirements.
- Is organised, reliable and able to manage the demands of a busy catering service.
- Takes pride in maintaining high standards of food preparation, presentation and cleanliness.
- Has a friendly and positive approach and is confident providing excellent customer service to pupils and staff.
- Can work effectively as part of a team while also using their own initiative.
- Is able to lead by example and support colleagues to deliver an efficient and welcoming catering service.
- Is committed to creating a positive lunchtime experience for pupils.
