About the Role
Lancashire County Council provides catering services to over 500 schools across Lancashire, serving over 60,000 school meals per day. We are looking for committed individuals to join the service at Brinscall St John's Church Of England/Methodist Primary School.
You will lead and work as part of a team within Brinscall St Johns, producing fresh, high quality, healthy, balanced meals to school children each day. You must have previous experience in kitchens. A proven track record in a similar position is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Cook and serve food and beverages in accordance with agreed menus and production plans.
- Direct and/or supervise other employees.
- Order supplies and store deliveries.
- Maintain records and stock control.

What We Are Looking For
- Recognised catering qualification and/or food hygiene certificate would be desirable.
- Experience of catering for large numbers is also desirable.
Working Hours
25 per week, 5 hours per day. Monday – Friday, Term time only.
Plus, four cleaning days.
This position is part time and term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent, the salary received will be paid on a pro-rata basis.

Local Government Reorganisation
The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028.

If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancashire County Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to one of the new unitary councils from April 2028, subject to the implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation.
