Administrative Opportunities within our Clinical Assessment Units

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is currently recruiting for a number of full-time and part-time administrative roles across both hospital sites within our Clinical Assessment Units (CAUs). These roles play an important role in helping us deliver high-quality patient care across the Trust.

These are all site-based positions, with working hours scheduled on a rota basis between 8:00am and 6:00pm to support clinic opening hours.

Available Opportunities

Below is a summary of the opportunities currently available. To find out more, we invite you to attend a virtual drop-in information session on Monday 21st September from 5.30pm - 6.30pm via Microsoft Teams.

The session will provide an opportunity to meet members of the management team, learn more about the departments, and ask any questions you may have about the roles.

Admin Support

£25,272 PA pro rata

Opportunities at Maidstone within the Medicine and Emergency Care Division.

Providing administrative support to clinical teams, maintaining accurate patient information, managing waiting lists, processing correspondence, and supporting the day-to-day running of the department.

CAU Booking Clerk

£25,760 - £27,476 PA pro rata

Opportunities at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells sites within Medicine and Emergency Care and Surgical Divisions.

Booking patient appointments, handling telephone enquiries, and monitoring waiting lists in line with Trust policies and procedures while delivering excellent customer service.

Medical Secretary

£28,392 – 31,157 PA pro rata

Opportunities at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospitals within Medicine and Emergency Care.

Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to clinical teams, managing correspondence, maintaining patient records, and supporting the efficient delivery of patient services.

Key Skills and Experience Required

All roles will require the following Key Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent communication, organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage a busy workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and flexible approach
  • Strong team-working skills
  • Ability to work efficiently, meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Previous healthcare experience is desirable but not essential

Fordcombe Hospital, near Tunbridge Wells, became part of the Trust in October 2024. Specialising in planned care, it offers two operating theatres, 28 inpatient and day-care beds, diagnostic services (X-ray, MRI, CT, and endoscopy), and consultation/treatment rooms.
