Registered Nurse - Practice Educator in CCDE

This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to become a Practice Educator in CCDE. The post holder will need experience and confidence in driving learning within the Community, Cancer, Diagnostics and End of Life Division (CCDE).

The successful candidate will work closely with all of CCDE but will be predominantly linked community and providing education and support for the 2-hour response, induction, preceptorship, community clinical skills, core skills and band 3 development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work Alongside:

    • Quality And Service Improvement Matron
    • Project Support Officers
    • Matrons/ Therapy Leads
  • Core Skills Training

  • Induction

  • Preceptorship

  • Patient Safety Training

  • One-to-One Support

The post holder will need to work flexibly and agilely across the CCDE division to be able to engage all clinical teams.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality multi professional learning environments within the CCDE division. This will require the post holder to work locally within services where inter professional learning opportunities can be promoted.

You will be joining an enthusiastic and motivated team who very patient safety focused. The Community Practice Educator Role will identify opportunities and lead on the delivery and review of inter professional learning opportunities.

As part of the Quality and Service Improvement Team the aim is to develop all staff to the highest standard and promote a culture of patient safety.

Locations

We operate from three main hospitals:

  • Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow
  • Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI)
  • Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal

Additionally, services are provided from:

  • Millom Hospital
  • Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe
  • Ulverston Community Health Centre

Services at FGH and RLI:

  • General Hospital services
  • Full Emergency Departments
  • Critical/Coronary Care units
  • Consultant-led services

Our community services for adults are provided in people’s homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.
