Criterion Capital is seeking an experienced and technically capable CCTV Surveyor to join our team, carrying out detailed CCTV surveys of drainage and below-ground infrastructure across our development and construction projects.
The role will involve attending sites across London to inspect existing drainage systems, identify defects and blockages, and produce accurate survey information to support design, maintenance and construction activities.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience carrying out CCTV drainage surveys within construction, civil engineering, utilities or a similar environment, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently on site.
The Role
The CCTV Surveyor will be responsible for carrying out CCTV surveys of existing drainage systems, accurately recording findings and providing clear reports and data to support the wider project team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carry out CCTV surveys of drainage systems, underground pipework, manholes and other below-ground infrastructure.
- Attend construction and development sites to undertake surveys in accordance with project requirements.
- Operate CCTV drainage survey equipment safely and effectively.
- Inspect drainage systems to identify defects, blockages, structural issues, connections, infiltration and other abnormalities.
- Accurately record survey information, observations, measurements and findings.
- Produce clear CCTV survey reports, photographs, video footage and supporting documentation.
- Ensure survey data is accurately labelled, organised and issued to the relevant project teams.
- Identify and report defects or issues that may impact construction, design, drainage performance or project delivery.
- Carry out pre- and post-works surveys where required to verify existing conditions and completed works.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, Designers and other project stakeholders to understand survey requirements.
- Assist the wider team in interpreting CCTV survey findings and identifying potential remedial works.
- Coordinate site access and survey requirements with contractors and other stakeholders.
- Maintain survey equipment and ensure it is kept in good working condition.
- Follow all relevant health and safety procedures when working on active construction sites and around drainage systems.
- Ensure all survey work is completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed timescales.
- Maintain accurate records of completed surveys and outstanding requirements.
- Travel between project sites across London and other locations as required.

- 2+ years' experience working as a CCTV Surveyor, Drainage Surveyor or in a similar surveying role.
- Proven experience carrying out CCTV drainage surveys within construction, civil engineering, utilities or property environments.
- Good understanding of drainage systems, pipework, manholes and below-ground infrastructure.
- Experience operating CCTV drainage survey equipment and associated recording systems.
- Ability to identify and accurately record drainage defects and abnormalities.
- Experience producing professional CCTV survey reports and documentation.
- Good understanding of relevant drainage survey standards and reporting requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to surveying and recording information.
- Good IT skills and confidence using survey reporting and data management software.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with site teams, engineers, contractors and project managers.
- Ability to work independently, manage site visits and prioritise multiple survey requirements.
- Relevant drainage, surveying or industry qualifications are desirable but not essential.
- A proactive and reliable approach, with a strong focus on accuracy, safety and quality.
