About the role

West Suffolk Council is currently seeking a CCTV Operator to work in our control room in Bury St Edmunds. This role involves operating over 900 CCTV cameras for various local towns, monitoring alarms, and managing the council's out-of-hours service. The role will provide a reactive and proactive CCTV monitoring service to assist with the council's commitment to the reduction of crime and disorder. You will be required to operate the equipment and cameras while complying with relevant legislation, the CCTV code of practice, and all operational control room procedures.

What you will need

You will ideally be CCTV SIA licensed and have experience of working in a busy control room. However, full training will be provided. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work as part of a team on a rolling four on, four off shift rota basis which includes days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays. Shift lengths vary between 8 and 12 hours depending on the day of the week. This post requires Police Vetting.
