Department:
Drainage/Depot Network
Drainage/Depot Network consists of a strategically located depot network across the UK, spanning from Aberdeen to Plymouth. Enabling rapid response to customer requirements and providing round-the-clock coverage, 365 days a year.
This extensive footprint allows Lanes to combine local responsiveness with national capability, ensuring consistent service standards while maintaining close relationships with regional customers and infrastructure partners.
Purpose of the Role
As a CCTV Drainage Operative, you will inspect and assess drainage systems using specialist CCTV equipment to identify defects, blockages, and other issues within pipework. Working mainly from a fully equipped survey van, you will record and report findings accurately using digital systems, ensuring clients receive detailed survey information. The role requires a strong focus on health and safety, professionalism when interacting with customers and the public, and flexibility to support operational requirements.
- Location: Edinburgh
- Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week
- Salary: £16.00 per hour

Key Requirements:
Skills & Experience:
- Full UK driving licence, with no more than 6 penalty points
- Ability to work effectively as part of a two-person team, supporting colleagues to deliver work safely and efficiently
- Competent IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Excel and digital reporting systems
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy when recording survey findings and completing documentation
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate reports and maintain clear digital records
- Confident using tablets, computers, and other technology to capture survey data and complete documentation
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a field-based environment
- Understanding of health and safety procedures and a commitment to following safe working practices at all times
Desirable:
- OX19 Preferable
- Previous experience in CCTV drainage surveying, utilities, construction, drainage, or a similar field-based role
- CSCS Card Preferable
