Purpose of the Role

To provide effective CCTV monitoring & controlling of contractors in a very busy control room.

To assist with the smooth running of the shopping centre and to assist with all emergency situations when they occur, this includes providing visible security cover to the Centre, handling enquiries and customer concerns, monitoring CCTV (by suitably trained and licensed staff) and controlling contractors and deliveries to the Centre.

In accordance with Savills policies undertake the role of Duty Manager when Management team are not on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • In accordance with Savills policies undertake the role of Duty Manager when Management team are not on site.
  • To monitor and control internal and external Closed-Circuit Television systems of the Centre.
  • To comply fully with the Health & Safety Policy for the centre.
  • To ensure that the requirements of the Fire regulations are strictly complied with.
  • To assist with the implementation of the Centre’s Emergency Plan and Evacuation Strategy in the event of an emergency
  • To monitor Building Management and Life Safety Systems implementing appropriate actions.
  • To ensure that the Rules & Regulations of the Centre are complied with at all times
  • Ensure that all incidents are recorded in Incident Log.
  • Ensure that contractors arriving on site adhere fully, to the centre procedures for contractor management and site H&S in line with the company policy and site procedures.
  • Ensure that the centre is a safe and pleasant environment.
  • Answering telephone calls from clients, tenants and members of the public.
  • Assist with enquiries from tenants and members the public when requested.
  • To carry out duties in accordance with instructions issued by Centre Management & security Manager.
  • To work the hours and shifts in accordance with terms and conditions of employment
  • To be aware of and abide by all rules, terms and conditions of the company.
  • To comply with their individual responsibilities to ensure that the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order are complied with, in line with company policy and site procedures
  • Ensure that the centre is a safe, clean and pleasant environment.
  • To be aware of and abide by all rules, terms and conditions of the company

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience in the provision of security services in a busy environment visited by members of the public.
  • In order to comply with the Security Industry Act 2001, officers must hold a valid SIA Public Space Surveillance Licence and Security License.
  • Excellent Knowledge of GDPR regulations (Data Protection ACT 2018)
  • Security & Crisis response awareness
  • Good knowledge of access control/intruder alarm/BMS/Fire alarm systems
  • Familiar with permits to work/accident reporting/risk assessments
  • Ability to demonstrate good levels of customer service at all times.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and deal with demanding situations.
  • Honest and reliable work ethic.
  • Willingness to partake in on-site training for emergency procedures.
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to adopt a flexible approach to work patterns and work weekends/evenings as and when required.
  • Willingness to undertake additional training and career development.
  • Well presented
  • Self-motivated
  • Accurate record keeping with good attention to detail – Incident logging, Shift handover
  • Team player with strong communication skills
  • Retail experience
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skill
  • Good local knowledge of City Centre & surrounding areas
  • First Aid Qualification
  • Ability to use full range of Microsoft applications inc. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Strong knowledge of H&S legislation

Working Hours

  • 4 x 12 - hour shifts – 4 on 4 off shift pattern consisting of 4 Days & 4 Nights
