CCTV Survey Crew Leader
We are recruiting an experienced CCTV Survey Crew Leader to lead a 2-3 person field team delivering sewer network CCTV surveys across wastewater assets for clients throughout the UK. You will be responsible for planning and carrying out high-quality CCTV inspections, operating specialist survey equipment, capturing accurate defect data, and ensuring all safety, quality, and client standards are met.
This is a hands-on, field-based role with regular client interaction, working closely with operational teams and survey colleagues to deliver inspection services that support leakage reduction, flood prevention, and pollution control.
Responsibilities
- Leading a 2-3 person CCTV survey crew on site, coordinating daily activities and workloads
- Carrying out sewer network CCTV inspections in line with OS19X Sewer Condition Classification
- Operating CCTV survey equipment to identify, classify, and record structural and service defects
- Completing survey records, defect coding, digital paperwork, and plan annotations accurately and on time
- Acting as site lead for health, safety, quality, and productivity
- Communicating professionally with clients, customers, and internal teams
- Manual handling of manhole covers, CCTV rigs, and inspection equipment
- Working within live wastewater networks and confined spaces
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Flexibility for travel, early starts, late finishes, weekends, and working away when required

- Proven experience in CCTV sewer surveying within the wastewater industry
- Strong working knowledge of OS19X Sewer Condition Classification
- Experience leading or supervising site-based technical teams
- Confident working in confined spaces and on highways
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Client-facing experience and professional approach on site
- Reliable, flexible, and comfortable working in physically demanding outdoor roles
The Successful Candidate Must Possess
- Full UK driving licence
- Current OS19X qualification
- Ability to complete accurate digital paperwork and reporting
- A proactive, safety-focused, and team-oriented approach
Desirable
- Confined Spaces certification
- NRSWA Signing, Lighting, and Guarding
Health & Safety
Please note this role involves:
- Entering confined spaces and live sewer environments
- Manual handling of heavy covers and equipment
- Working on highways and in public areas
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Occasional extended hours, weekends, and working away
Health, safety, and compliance are integral to day-to-day operations. A DBS check and drugs & alcohol testing are required.
Work Pattern & Location
This is a full-time, Monday-Friday field-based role, operating from Irlam, Clevedon, or Brentford, with the majority of time spent on site. Some travel, overnight stays, and non-standard working hours will be required to support project delivery.
