About the role

CD Finance is a core pillar within the Unilever Finance Operating Model and the Home Care UKI business. The team directly partners Customer Development, helping drive profitable growth and ensuring we are fit to win with our customers.

The CD Finance Manager role provides a unique opportunity to operate at the heart of commercial decision making, working closely with Customer Development, Revenue Growth Management, Marketing, Supply Chain and Finance teams. The successful candidate will help shape customer strategies, evaluate investment decisions and influence business performance through data-led insight and financial challenge.

This role offers ambitious individuals the opportunity to develop broad commercial finance experience within a fast-paced FMCG environment, while playing a key role in delivering growth and profitability across the Home Care category.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Partnering

  • Act as the finance business partner to designated Customer Development teams and customers.
  • Support the development of customer and channel growth strategies through financial insight and commercial challenge.
  • Influence cross-functional decision making to improve business performance and customer outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships across Customer Development, Marketing, Revenue Growth Management and Supply Chain teams.

Commercial Performance Management

  • Support delivery of turnover, gross margin and profit commitments across customer portfolios.
  • Track performance versus forecast and targets, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to improve business performance.
  • Support monthly business reviews and planning cycles.

Trade Investment & Customer Profitability

  • Critically assess customer investment proposals and promotional activity.
  • Support investment decisions through robust financial evaluation and analysis.
  • Monitor trade investment performance and identify opportunities to improve effectiveness.
  • Drive visibility of customer profitability and return on investment.

Promotional & Pricing Excellence

  • Support evaluation of promotional programmes and customer initiatives.
  • Partner Revenue Growth Management (NRM) and Customer Development teams on pricing and promotional strategy.
  • Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis to support decision making.
  • Help improve commercial execution and profitable growth outcomes.

Forecasting & Planning

  • Support forecasting and planning processes across Customer Development.
  • Challenge assumptions and ensure alignment between commercial plans and financial expectations.
  • Help identify emerging risks and opportunities to delivery.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of forecast accuracy and performance management.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Experience in Commercial Finance, Business Partnering, Revenue Growth Management or a related finance role.
  • Strong analytical capability and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to influence and challenge stakeholders constructively.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience translating data into actionable business insight.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively within cross-functional teams.

Preferred

  • FMCG or consumer goods experience.
  • Understanding of customer profitability, trade investment and promotional effectiveness.
  • Experience with business planning, forecasting and performance management.
  • Knowledge of customer-facing commercial processes and retailer dynamics.
