Shift Schedule
- Monday – Friday: Dependent on route, average 5 days per week.
- Start Times: range from 3:00 am – 4:00 am (dependent on route)
- End Times: range from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm (until the route has been completed)
- Routes will not exceed DOT hours.
- Weekend work may be required based on business needs.
- Minimum of 1 overnight (layover) route per week.
Job Purpose and Overview
As a Driver for Dawn Foods, you will support our customers by safely and efficiently transporting product from the distribution center by driving a tractor-trailer to various customers and properly delivering and unloading product according to customer invoices and Dawn team standards.
This opportunity is a full-time and benefits-eligible position.

What Does It Take to be a CDL Class A Driver at Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.
- Class “A” CDL License in good standing
- Minimum of 6 months Class A Commercial driving experience
- Ability to work in the United States
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds consistently throughout work shift
- Ability to operate MHE equipment
- Experience delivering into food service accounts is preferred
- Lift-gate, reefer, electric pallet jack and forklift experience helpful
- Computer skills or experience with electronic logs helpful
What will you do as a CDL Class A Driver at Dawn Foods?
- Obey all federal, state, and local rules and regulations of the road including all DOT operating, recording and safe food handling procedures
- Conduct daily face to face interaction with customers, representing Dawn Foods in a friendly, competent, and professional manner
- In a DSD (direct store delivery) setting, break down product and complete shelf stacking at each stop
- Driving and maintaining multi-temp trailers
- Offloading with electric pallet jacks/two wheelers
- Performing pre and post trip vehicle inspections as well as collecting invoice receipts that are generated from the deliveries

- Required to use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.
- Required to exert physical effort in handling objects more than 50 pounds frequently.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
- Ability to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to withstand cool and/or cold temperatures.
- Normal setting for this job is outdoors and/or driving a video/GPS-monitored vehicle.
- Will be exposed to a physical environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements most of the workday.
- Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, wheat, and soy.
