QHSE and CDM Manager
Location: Aldermaston, Berkshire
Hours: 40 Hours, Monday to Friday

We're looking for an experienced QHSE and CDM Manager to lead the safety agenda across our Nuclear Security Contract and support the transformational delivery of large-scale infrastructure programmes. Reporting to the Divisional QHSE Director, with a dotted reporting line to the Engineering Division Managing Director, you'll provide strategic leadership across Quality, Health, Safety and Environment while acting as the senior competent lead for Construction Design and Management compliance.
Please note, to be successful in this role, you will need to successfully pass a Developed Vetting (DV) Clearance level of vetting.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of QHSE improvement plans, assurance programmes and compliance arrangements, ensuring alignment with divisional, contractual and sector objectives.
- Act as the senior competent lead for CDM matters, providing professional advice and assurance to clients, project teams and senior leaders while ensuring compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
- Integrate CDM principles throughout the project lifecycle, including project planning, pre-construction information, design risk management, construction delivery and preparation of the Health and Safety File.
- Use audits, incident investigations, performance data and root-cause analysis to identify risks, address non-conformances and implement effective preventative and continuous improvement measures.
- Build trusted relationships with clients, Principal Designers, Principal Contractors, designers, contractors and operational leadership teams, promoting collaboration and ensuring all parties understand and discharge their duties effectively.
What We're Looking For
- Chartered membership of IOSH, ideally CMIOSH, together with a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent advanced health and safety qualification.
- Strong working knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, including pre-construction information, design risk assessments, risk registers, Construction Phase Plans and Health and Safety Files.
- Proven experience in a senior QHSE leadership role, ideally supporting multiple sites, complex infrastructure programmes or highly regulated environments.
- Experience of internal auditing, ISO management standards, incident investigation, root-cause analysis and the development of assurance and improvement programmes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to influence senior leaders, clients, project teams and cross-functional stakeholders.

Desirable Experience
- Experience working within nuclear, civil engineering, electrical engineering or major infrastructure environments.
- Previous involvement in training delivery or the development of QHSE capability.
- Experience operating within a commercial and client-facing environment.
- Experience supporting tender activity and providing specialist QHSE input into bids, policies or mobilisation plans.
- Full UK Driving License is highly desirable due to the location and size of the site.
