Belcan Workforce Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering and project consultancy delivering complex programmes across highly regulated sectors including Defence, Power, Custodial and Public Sector environments.
We are seeking a CDM & Design Risk Consultant to join a growing Project & Design Management team, supporting the delivery of projects where safety, compliance and effective risk management are critical to success.
The Opportunity
Working alongside an experienced CDM Manager and multidisciplinary design teams, you will support the delivery of CDM and design risk management services across a diverse portfolio of projects.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with architects, engineers, project managers and contractors to ensure health and safety considerations are embedded throughout the design process, from concept development through to project completion.

The position would suit individuals with experience in CDM, design risk management, architectural, engineering or design management environments who are looking to further develop their career within a consultancy setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of CDM services in accordance with CDM 2015 Regulations.
- Assist in identifying, eliminating and managing foreseeable design and construction risks.
- Work collaboratively with architects, engineers, project managers and contractors throughout project lifecycles.
- Participate in design reviews, risk workshops and stakeholder meetings.
- Support the preparation and review of Pre-Construction Information and Health & Safety Files.
- Assist in coordinating stakeholders to ensure effective management of design risk.
- Promote CDM best practice across multidisciplinary project teams.
- Support the CDM Manager in delivering Principal Designer duties across multiple projects.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of CDM training and awareness initiatives.

About You
We are interested in candidates with experience within consultancy, engineering, architecture, construction or project delivery environments who have an understanding of CDM and design risk management principles.
Essential Requirements
- Experience supporting CDM, design risk management or Principal Designer activities.
- Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary design teams.
- Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or Occupational Health & Safety.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Must be eligible to obtain UK SC Security Clearance.
- Full right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Consultancy experience.
- Exposure to Defence, Power, Public Sector or other highly regulated environments.
- Membership of APS, IOSH, ICE, IStructE, RIBA or a similar professional body.
- Working towards professional chartership.
This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of two days per week in Motherwell.
