CDM Health and Safety Advisor - Contract (Outside IR35)
We are supporting our client, a prominent FMCG food manufacturer in Greater Manchester, who is seeking an experienced CDM Health and Safety Advisor for an onsite contract in Wigan starting 1 October 2026. You will play a key role in ensuring CDM Regulations compliance, driving high health and safety standards, and supporting safe delivery of fire alarm system installation and wider construction-related activities across our client's site.
Key Skills & Experience
- CDM Regulations expertise - Ensuring all construction and site activities comply with CDM requirements and best practice.
- FMCG / food manufacturing experience - Understanding fast-paced production environments and associated health and safety challenges.
- Fire alarm system install/oversight - Supporting safe installation, testing and oversight of fire protection systems across entire site.
- NEBOSH - Applying recognised health and safety frameworks to manage risk and compliance.
- SMSTS - Providing site management-level safety leadership, especially on construction-related works.
- First Aid - Delivering immediate support and promoting a strong safety culture onsite.
- Temporary Works Coordinator - Overseeing temporary structures and systems to ensure stability and safety.
- Permits issuing - Controlling high‑risk activities through robust permit-to-work processes.
- RAMS review - Critically assessing risk assessments and method statements to ensure they are suitable and sufficient.
- Stakeholder & contractor management - Influencing, coaching and challenging our client's team and contractors to drive safe behaviours.
- Confined spaces experience (desirable) - Managing specialist risks in restricted environments.
- Food manufacturing background (desirable) - Enhancing safety performance within a dynamic production setting.

Contract Details
- Location: Wigan, Greater Manchester (onsite)
- Day rate: £300-£350 per day, all inclusive
- Outside IR35
- Approx. 3-5 years' health and safety experience preferred
- Start date: 1 October 2026
