Role Overview
Bellrock is looking to grow its CDM consultancy team, offering an exciting opportunity to provide dedicated CDM and Health & Safety advisory support to a key commercial client across refurbishment, remediation, maintenance and construction projects. The role will involve working closely with client project teams, contractors, Principal Designers, and Principal Contractors to oversee CDM processes, support compliance, and promote safe project delivery. The successful candidate will lead the day-to-day CDM advisory function, provide practical guidance, manage governance processes, and, where required, undertake Principal Designer duties. We are looking for a proactive individual with strong leadership skills, sound judgement, and a collaborative approach who can build trusted client relationships, support effective health and safety management, and drive continuous improvement across the client’s estate and contractor network.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a key CDM and Health & Safety advisor to the client, providing clear, practical, and proportionate advice to support compliance with CDM 2015 and associated health and safety legislation.
- Administer the client’s CDM appointment process, preparing and issuing formal Principal Designer and Principal Contractor appointments and maintaining appropriate records and evidence of acceptance.
- Manage and coordinate the client’s Health & Safety forums, including preparing agendas, coordinating inputs, tracking actions, and supporting the communication of key health and safety matters across project teams and the supply chain.
- Monitor contractor health and safety performance through agreed KPIs, collating and reviewing performance information, identifying trends or areas of concern, and supporting appropriate follow-up actions with the client and contractors.
- Undertake supplier and contractor competency checks, reviewing relevant health and safety and CDM information, maintaining the associated competency register, and ensuring records remain current and auditable.
- Undertake planned and reactive Health & Safety inspections across the client’s estate, producing clear, high-quality reports, identifying non-conformances, and areas for improvement, and tracking actions through to appropriate close-out.
- Provide ongoing CDM and Health & Safety advice, guidance, and coaching to the client’s project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate governance records, registers, inspection outputs, KPI information, and action trackers, and provide regular reporting to the client on compliance performance, emerging risks, and areas requiring attention.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
