The hotel caters to a wide range of visitors, including business guests, golf enthusiasts using the 18-hole golf course, spa visitors, and guests celebrating special occasions. Linden Hall offers a peaceful retreat from everyday life while maintaining high standards of service and comfort for both guests and team members.
Role Description
The CDP role at Macdonald Linden Hall Golf and Spa Hotel is a full-time, on-site position based in Morpeth. You will prepare and cook dishes to high standards, ensure consistent food quality across all service periods, and support menu development aligned with the hotel’s brand and guest expectations.

Daily responsibilities include:


Get help with your application

- Managing food preparation
- Maintaining kitchen hygiene and safety
- Monitoring stock levels
- Minimizing waste
You will work closely with the front-of-house teams to deliver timely service, support special events and banqueting, and provide a positive dining experience for guests. The role also involves following food safety regulations and upholding company standards in all kitchen operations.
Qualifications
- Professional culinary skills, including experience in food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating to a high standard.
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, including stock control, waste reduction, and adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Experience working in hotel, restaurant, or banqueting environments, ideally within a four-star or similar quality setting.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house colleagues.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and service periods while maintaining quality.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operations.
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications (e.g., NVQ or equivalent in Professional Cookery, Food Hygiene Level 2 or above) are highly beneficial.
- Commitment to guest satisfaction, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to improving menus and service.
