Location: London
Salary: £80,000 - £95,000 + benefits DOE (open to looking at candidates taking a step up into a Manager role)
Job Type: Permanent
JSS is partnering with a specialty Lloyd's managing agent to recruit a Reinsurance Operations Team Lead. This is a newly created leadership role within a reinsurance operations function that is growing. This is a genuine opportunity to shape a team at an early stage. You'll take hands-on ownership of the day-to-day running of the team and bring structure, pace and consistency as it builds out, with a clear path to take on more over time.

Responsibilities
- Line managing a small team of RI Technicians, covering workload allocation, quality control, coaching and performance
- Owning outwards reinsurance month-end close from start to finish
- Acting as the main escalation point for technical, process and XL Pro queries
- Acting as the key liaison between reinsurance, actuarial and finance
- Building robust processes, timetables and documentation for an evolving function
- Leading reinsurance projects, process improvement and system initiatives
- Supporting recruitment and onboarding as the team grows

Personal Profile
- Proven Lloyd's or London Market reinsurance operations experience, ideally covering recoveries, cash allocation and credit control
- Team management or supervisory experience. Strong candidates ready for their first line management role will also be considered
- Working knowledge of Lloyd's reporting and Lloyd's minimum standards
- XL Pro experience or similar RI systems essential
- A hands-on, deadline-driven approach, and comfort building process rather than following an established one
