About the role
As Cell Leader, you will have overall accountability for the performance, delivery and continuous improvement of your manufacturing cell. This is a highly visible leadership role where you will be responsible for ensuring the cell delivers against today's operational targets while developing and executing robust plans to achieve future performance goals. Acting as the figurehead for the area, you will lead key performance reviews, represent the cell during site visits and drive the ownership and execution of 90-day improvement plans. Leading both direct and indirect teams, you will play a pivotal role in creating a high-performing, engaged and inclusive culture. A strong focus of the role is people leadership, coaching and development, ensuring standards are consistently maintained while nurturing talent and building the next generation of leaders from within the business.

- Ensuring delivery of all KPIs and targets and accountability for Safety, Quality, Service, Cost and people within the cell
- Ownership of the Daily Management System
- Leading the FIT for the cell and coaching/supporting the L1 and cluster meetings within the cell. Ensure the DMS process is helping to drive the right activities within the cell
- Ownership of the Cell Improvement Plan
- Driving transformation through a 90-day PDCA cycle of improvement focused initiatives within the cell
- People – Management & Leadership
- Coaching and developing all roles within the cell through regular 1-1’s, managing holiday planning, absence management and disciplinary processes within the team
Your responsibilities
- Demonstrable experience in managing large manufacturing operations, with a focus on driving performance and efficiency.
- A natural leader with a history of inspiring teams and a commitment to safety and quality.
- Proficient in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma.
- Effective communicator with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make swift decisions.
- Working knowledge of production logistics, supply management, and contract negotiation.

You will be responsible for creating a safe, high-performing and engaged manufacturing environment that consistently delivers operational excellence. You will lead by example, driving performance across Safety, Quality, Service, Cost and People while developing the capability of your team, championing continuous improvement and ensuring the cell is well positioned to meet both current and future business objectives.
- Lead and champion a safety-first culture, ensuring safety remains the highest priority in all activities and decisions.
- Maintain exceptional operational standards across safety, quality, housekeeping, cleaning and 5S, driving accountability throughout the team.
- Foster a positive, high-performance culture that encourages engagement, ownership and collaboration. Take full accountability for the delivery of cell KPIs, ensuring teams understand, track and achieve performance targets.
- Deliver critical performance measures across Safety, Quality, Service, Cost and People metrics.
- Coach, mentor and develop team members, building capability and supporting long-term career growth.
- Ensure robust skills management, training plans and succession planning are in place to meet current and future business needs.
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and team briefings to drive performance, engagement and effective communication.
- Own the cell's improvement agenda, including 90-day plans, productivity initiatives and OEE performance delivery.
- Lead and sponsor strategic improvement programmes, embedding continuous improvement methodologies such as ECRS, 5S and lean operating practices across the cell.
