About the role
Our Electrophysiology and Cellular Pharmacology department plays a crucial role in supporting drug discovery programmes focused on ion channels, GPCRs and transporters for biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients worldwide.
The team is expanding and they're looking for a Cellular Pharmacology Scientist to help in supporting internal and client projects. You will work alongside a team of experienced scientists and will learn to evaluate and discover potential new drugs for a broad range of projects, molecular targets and therapeutic indications.

Role Responsibilities
- Support projects by developing professional interpersonal relationships within the team, working with others to meet team objectives, and providing practical help and assistance to others as appropriate.
- Design and execute experiments with/without supervision, under relevant instruction to meet approved timelines and objectives.
- Analyse, interpret and communicate the outcome of experiments to the project leader and/or team.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures, plate-plans and worksheets.
- Contribute to publications and/or be part of presentations at external meetings.
- Develop experience and independence with scientific skills relevant to project assignment e.g. tissue culture, cell-based assays, screening, electrophysiology and principles of assay development.

Skills & Qualifications
- BSc/MSc in a relevant Scientific discipline.
- Industrial placement experience gained within a pharmaceutical company, Biotech, or CRO would be advantageous however not essential.
- Knowledge and experience of practical laboratory techniques. Any cell culture and/or electrophysiology experience would be advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work well within a team.
