Centre Support Manager - Systems

Reports into Technical and Analytical Service Manager, FSQ

Role Summary

The Systems Centre Support Manager will be responsible for ensuring the quality systems on site are efficient and effective to meet Heinz standards. They must ensure the site is always ready for unannounced BRC and other audits.

To display a positive enthusiasm and demonstrate a real drive to make pragmatic, data-driven, timely improvements and decisions relating to Food Safety and Quality that support the site whilst protecting the Heinz Brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Have a full understanding of the quality system and play a key role in maintaining, developing and improving systems to comply with internal requirements and that of external bodies and customers
  • Accountable for all external Audits at Kitt Green (BRC, Halal, EHO, TSO, KFC, FDA & other customers)
  • Developing and implementing the global quality systems strategy that aligns with the organization's overall objectives and targets for function
  • Co-ordinate the FSQ training agenda, ensuring materials are comprehensive, training is prioritised by risk and tracked against plan
  • Identify and communicate trends for Food safety and Quality KPIs including Right First Time, Cost of Quality and Complaints, using data to drive decision making
  • Have a full understanding of KHMS and its application to ensure structured improvements are identified and delivered across site
  • Reduce operational risk by identifying opportunities to simplify and strengthen current practices and ways of working
  • Provide Problem solving skills to ensure root causes of incidents are understood and introduce preventative actions to ensure issues are not repeated
  • Ensure all finished product leaving Heinz control is of the correct standard by effective management of Finished product from Quarantines and Incidents

Additional Responsibilities

  • Manage the integration/communication and availability of all end to end standards/documentation in FSQ – OVER 400 documents;
  • Work with Global to define and implement Digital QMS: Estimated 2-3M Investment.
  • SIRI Incident Management and Cost Improvement: around 10M year productivity/cost avoidance.
  • Key Contact for KHMS Implementation/standards and compliance to plan

Expected Experience And Required Skills

  • Educated to degree level in a Science based discipline or significant food industry experience in these areas
  • Positive can-do attitude with a strong desire and ability to make a difference
  • Effective, proven communication and influencing skills
  • Excellent understanding of Quality management systems and tools, BRC, HACCP, Internal audit techniques
  • An ability to challenge current processes and practices and deliver effective changes
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent PC skills with the ability to manipulate data
  • Ability to adapt quickly and positively to change
  • Confident to make data driven decisions

Organizational Relationships

  • Communication with a range of stakeholders from all functions and all levels.
  • Main stakeholders include Operations, Engineering, Planning and Supply Chain, Finance, R&D, Purchasing and external contractors / suppliers.
  • Particularly strong links with the Operation and Engineering functions supporting daily activities as well as Daily and Monthly reviews to improve performance.
  • Direct contact with Environmental Health Officers and other legal enforcement personnel.
  • Direct contact with Kraft Heinz and external auditors as required.
