Central Birth Suite Coordinator

Within ELHT Maternity services, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent post as Central Birth Suite Coordinator.

About the Role

The post holder will be an experienced Midwife who is dynamic, accessible, and a responsive leader, able to provide effective, compassionate leadership, clinical expertise, and professional advice to the maternity team they manage. They will be expected to ensure the provision of a high-quality service to women/persons and their families in line with best practice and local, regional, and national guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry responsibility and accountability on a shift basis, both managerially and professionally, for the management of the Delivery Suite.
  • Effectively develop and supervise staff with regard to skill mix and dependency of care.
  • Encourage and support midwives to engage with the philosophy and principles of the midwifery agenda, thereby promoting normal birth.
  • Contribute to the setting of standards, audit, research, infection prevention and control, and risk management activities.
  • Enable opportunity for professional development and leadership within a dynamic area of the Maternity services.
  • Support the provision of safe, personal, and effective care for high-risk and vulnerable women and babies within the intrapartum period.
