Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Management Accountant to join our Central Finance team. Reporting to the Head of Central Finance, you will play a key role in supporting the financial control, reporting and accounting activities across the business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of Head Office management accounts and the review and consolidation of these together with regional results supporting the delivery of accurate and timely financial information to key stakeholders. You will work closely with Head Office departmental leaders, regional finance teams and external auditors, helping to drive financial performance, maintaining high standard of control and consistency of finance processes across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver accurate monthly Head Office and consolidated management accounts.
- Support the monthly close process, ensuring the timely completion of journals, reconciliations and reporting activities.
- Produce financial reports and provide meaningful analysis to support business decision-making.
- Partner with Head Office budget holders and regional finance teams, providing financial insight and guidance.
- Maintain and update forecasts, supporting wider group budgeting and planning processes.
- Support the continuous improvement of finance systems, processes and controls to drive efficiency and consistency.
- Assist with statutory reporting, audit activities and compliance requirements.
- Prepare financial reporting for joint venture entities, including management accounts, statutory accounts and board reporting.
- Coordinate external audit requirements for joint venture entities.
- Lead, coach and support the development of the Central Finance Assistant Accountant.
- Contribute to finance transformation initiatives and ad hoc projects across the business.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Experience working within a large corporate organisation, ideally with a regional or divisional structure.
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse, manipulate and present financial data effectively.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across the business.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently whilst also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Experience of month-end close processes, financial analysis and management reporting.
Desirable
- Experience of COINS financial systems.
- Housebuilding, construction or property sector experience.
- Experience of Anaplan or similar financial planning and forecasting tools.
- Experience supporting finance process improvement and system development projects.
- Knowledge of statutory accounting and audit processes for joint ventures or complex organisations.
Qualifications
- A professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
