Role Description
The Central Heating Engineer role at Damand Services is a full-time remote position focused on delivering high-quality central heating and plumbing services to residential and commercial clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing central heating systems, boilers, including Natural gas, LPG, and unvented works, as well as performing routine maintenance and safety checks. The engineer will respond to emergency breakdowns, coordinate with insurance providers, and ensure work is completed in line with industry regulations and company standards. Additional tasks involve advising customers on system improvements, documenting work carried out, and collaborating with office staff to schedule and prioritize jobs efficiently. Remote work will involve traveling to customer sites from a home base, maintaining clear communication via phone and digital tools.

- Strong technical skills in central heating systems, boiler diagnostics, and repair, including experience with modern and traditional setups.
- Competence in all boiler systems and gas safety procedures, with current Gas Safe registration.
- Solid plumbing skills covering installation, maintenance, and repair of domestic and commercial plumbing fixtures and pipework.
- Experience in general building maintenance, including basic fault finding and ensuring systems and facilities remain safe and functional.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and provide professional, courteous support.
- Relevant vocational qualifications (e.g., NVQ or equivalent in Plumbing and Heating), and a valid driver’s license for travel to customer sites.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capability to work independently in a remote, field-based environment.
- Availability for occasional evening or weekend call-outs and familiarity with working under insurance policy requirements is beneficial.
