About The Role
Central Operations Planner
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are looking for an organised and experienced Central Operations Planner to join our team!
As a Central Operations Planner, you will play a key role in coordinating and scheduling operational resources to ensure work is completed efficiently, safely and within agreed service levels.
Based at our Head Office in Leeds, you will work closely with engineers, Account Managers and the wider Operations team to plan workloads, manage schedules and respond to changing business requirements. This is a fast-paced role that requires excellent organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Experience using FLS or a similar field service management and scheduling system is essential.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Planning and scheduling engineers' workloads to maximise productivity and ensure operational requirements are met
- Using FLS and workforce management systems to allocate jobs, manage schedules and make effective use of available resources
- Liaising with Account Managers to coordinate customer requirements and ensure service commitments are met
- Organising and coordinating inductions for new employees, ensuring all required documentation and training is completed
- Managing employee schedules using workforce management and shift allocation systems
- Prioritising workloads and responding quickly and effectively to changing business requirements
- Monitoring engineer activity and the progress of assigned work, ensuring tasks are completed and accurately recorded
- Tracking employee attendance, availability and workload distribution
- Reviewing operational data and reports, identifying and correcting errors where required
- Maintaining accurate records and providing clear scheduling updates to relevant stakeholders
- Supporting wider operational planning activities and contributing to process improvement initiatives
- Ensuring company policies, procedures and customer requirements are followed at all times
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across Central Operations and the wider business

Qualifications And Skills
- Previous experience in an operational planning, scheduling or workforce management role
- Experience using FLS or a similar scheduling/workforce management system
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and respond positively to changing requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- High level of accuracy when reviewing data, schedules and reports
- Experience using employee shift management or workforce scheduling applications would be advantageous
- Experience coordinating employee onboarding and induction activities would be advantageous
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
