About Allica Bank

Allica is the UK’s fastest growing company - and the fastest-growing financial technology (Fintech) firm ever. Our purpose is to help established SMEs, one of the last major underserved opportunities in Fintech.

Established SMEs are the backbone of local communities - representing over a third of our economy - yet have been largely neglected both by traditional high street banks and modern fintech providers.

Department Description

Allica exists for the half a million or so established SMEs with typically 5 to 100 employees. These SMEs are a crucial pillar of the UK’s prosperity - representing more than a quarter of all turnover and jobs - yet are increasingly neglected by traditional high street banks.

Since early 2021 Allica Bank has been building its direct SME relationship proposition too. Our vision is to reimagine Local Relationship Banking for established SMEs, through the very best people and digital tools.

Our Central Relationship Managers (Central RMs) will initially be focused on assisting SMEs with turnover up to £1m supporting clients business ambitions through the provision of day-to-day banking facilities including business current accounts and savings as well as commercial mortgages and asset finance. Over time, we’re building a wider SME banking product to offer working capital solutions, and you’ll represent Allica across all these products too.

Role Description

Supporting a portfolio of centrally managed customers, ensuring they are well served with strong customer satisfaction, ensuring good credit risk management of your portfolio and growing the portfolio via your own business development activities and working with Allica’s marketing team and their lead generation capabilities.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Successfully relationship managing a centralized portfolio of local SMEs, providing secured SME lending including commercial mortgages and asset finance, alongside current accounts and savings, widening over time in line with our offering.
  • Through ongoing proactive client engagement and forward-looking conversations to unlock opportunities to support businesses with their plans and ambitions.
  • Credit risk monitoring for your portfolio including spotting early warning signs and fulfilling additional credit requests.
  • Originating SME lending opportunities from initial enquiry through to completion, including writing credit papers in line with Allica’s credit policy and appetite.
  • Delivering the business plan for your portfolio, and actively managing your objectives and personal development plans. Capable of horizon risk scanning, interpreting local markets and delivering action plans.
  • You’ll be able to evidence an ability to work expertly with customers, colleagues and advisors to structure new lending proposals and write credit applications.
  • Making your colleagues proud that you represent Allica, by ensuring excellent service for SME customers, prospects and advisors. You are a trusted partner for customers, building deep, multi-layered relationships.
  • Working closely and collaboratively with all areas of Allica to ensure a seamless and professional service is always provided.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
