SAP Solution Manager – Finance & Procurement

Multiple UK locations (Warrington, Garston, Cardiff, Southampton, London and others)
Hybrid – 3 days per week on site
Up to £80,000 + benefits
Permanent

WRK digital is partnered with a major UK infrastructure and logistics operator to appoint an SAP Solution Manager covering Finance and Procurement.

This is the role that sits between the business and the people who build. You'll own the solution design across SAP Finance, Controlling and Source-to-Pay - approving designs, prioritising demand with the business, and holding third-party delivery partners to the standard you set. It's part solution architect, part team lead, and reports directly to the Head of SAP & Enterprise Applications.

It's also, refreshingly, not a project role. The organisation runs standing teams rather than fixed-term programmes, which means you own your area properly instead of handing it over at go-live and moving on.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • Owning the solution design across SAP FI/CO, record-to-report and source-to-pay, including Vendor Invoice Management and Concur
  • Chairing design review, approving build, and holding the line on standard, right-fit solutions rather than expensive customisation
  • Prioritising change demand with Business Process Owners and super users, and managing impact assessment across the estate
  • Managing the performance of third-party partners and vendors - a significant part of the job, and a requirement for the role
  • Leading a functional team of SAP specialists: objectives, coaching, development, capacity and resource planning
  • Owning the integration points between your area and the wider landscape, and reviewing system integration test scope

What we're looking for

  • Solution ownership or functional lead experience in SAP Finance and Controlling and SAP Procurement / Source-to-Pay.
  • Genuine experience managing external delivery partners, systems integrators or managed service providers, from the client side
  • The ability to explain trade-offs clearly to finance and procurement stakeholders who aren't technical, and to say no when the answer is no
  • Experience leading a team, including people you don't directly control
  • Comfort in an environment where priorities move and escalations land on your desk
  • S/4HANA experience is strongly preferred. If your depth is ECC-based and you've since moved into S/4, we'd still like to hear from you
  • Exposure to any of Inventory Management, VIM, Concur, EPPM, REFX, BPC, SAC or BW is welcome but not expected across the board
