We’re looking for a Centre Accountant to join our Centre Finance team at Westfield London on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is a great opportunity to play a key role in supporting the financial performance and smooth operation of one of our flagship destinations. You’ll work closely with the Centre Finance Manager and the wider Centre Management team, helping to deliver accurate reporting, robust financial controls and clear insight for the business.
You’ll be close to the action, balancing detailed accounting responsibilities with hands-on business partnering. If you enjoy taking ownership, working with different stakeholders and finding better ways of doing things, we’d love to hear from you.
Why this role matters
The Centre Accountant helps ensure that Westfield London’s financial deliverables are completed accurately, on time and in line with established procedures.
Working alongside the Centre Finance Manager, you’ll support month-end activity, joint venture reporting, VAT returns, budgeting and forecasting. Your work will give the Centre Management team clear financial information to manage costs, identify risks and opportunities, and make well-informed decisions.
You’ll also contribute to improvements in financial processes and controls, including change initiatives such as the SAP S/4 implementation.
What you’ll be getting involved in
No two days will look exactly the same, but you’ll spend your time:
- Supporting shopping centre asset accounting and month-end procedures, including period-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations such as bank reconciliations and tenant deposits
- Partnering with the Westfield London Centre Management team through quarterly finance reviews, helping to keep operating costs in line with budget and identify risks and opportunities
- Supporting the preparation of the annual Retailer Service Charge Budget and Service Charge Reconciliation packs
- Coordinating joint venture funding, transfer listings and ad hoc finance requirements
- Supporting the preparation of the Centre VAT return and engaging with external stakeholders where required
- Assisting with annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for service charge expenditure, non-recoverable costs, other operational income and operating capital expenditure
- Working with external auditors across UK statutory, Group and service charge audits
- Helping to strengthen financial processes and controls, including supporting continuous improvement and systems change initiatives

What we’re looking for
We’re not looking for someone who ticks every single box. What matters most is that you bring the right experience, attitude and energy to make a real contribution.
You’ll enjoy this role if you:
- Have relevant experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally working closely with operational or business stakeholders
- Can explain financial information clearly and simplify complex issues for non-finance audiences
- Bring energy and enthusiasm to a fast-paced environment
- Are highly organised and confident managing competing priorities and deadlines
- Take ownership of your work and care about accuracy, controls and delivering on time
- Enjoy collaborating with others and building trusted relationships
It would be great if you also bring:
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets
- Experience within a large real estate or similarly complex business
- Exposure to service charge accounting, joint venture reporting, VAT returns, audit or finance systems change
