CMAC: A World-Class Centre for Medicines Manufacturing Research
CMAC is a world-class centre of medicines manufacturing research, training, and translation. Working in partnership with industry, CMAC’s goal is to transform the development and manufacture of medicines through the exploitation of digital design and advanced manufacturing technologies. Our portfolio of activity is focused on four key pillars to deliver:
- High quality manufacturing research
- The workforce of the future through skills development and training
- Effective translation of research into industry
- Continue to develop our world-leading facilities and Lab of the Future infrastructure

About the CDT
Led by the University of Strathclyde with our partners in the University of Leeds, Imperial College London, and University of Sheffield, CMAC has secured a Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) grant funded by UKRI to launch the new CDT in Cyberphysical Systems for Medicine Development and Manufacturing (CEDAR). Developed in collaboration with industry partners, CEDAR will train 90 future leaders with the multidisciplinary skills essential for advancing next-generation, sustainable medicines manufacturing.

Critical to the success of the post will be an experienced, skilled, and highly organized self-starter to join us as an Engagement and Outreach Officer. The role would suit candidates who are multi-taskers and experienced in delivering engagement activities and events to meet the needs of the programme and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate prioritisation and scheduling of your own workload
- Essential organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
This is a fixed-term post until 30/06/2029.
Initial interviews have been scheduled for October 2026.
