Role and Responsibilities:

  • Operate manual centre lathes and milling machines to manufacture and repair hydraulic components.
  • Set up machinery and prepare materials for machining operations.
  • Produce high-quality components to customer specifications and samples.
  • Work accurately to tight tolerances while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Cut and prepare raw materials using workshop equipment.
  • Inspect finished components to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Carry out routine machine maintenance and general workshop duties.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
  • Work efficiently to meet customer deadlines while upholding Hydraquip's high standards of service and workmanship.

Essential Experience

What we’re looking for

  • Experience operating manual centre lathes and milling machines.
  • General machine shop experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working with hydraulic cylinders, rods, and tubes.
  • Experience repairing or manufacturing hydraulic components.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic engineering or fluid power systems.
  • Experience reproducing components from customer samples.
  • Familiarity with machine maintenance and workshop best practices.
