We're working with an ambitious, growing Direct to Consumer Ecommerce business to appoint a commercially minded Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation through its next stage of development.

This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who combines strategic vision with a hands-on, practical approach. Working closely with the Board, founders and senior leadership team, you will set the direction of the business, drive sustainable growth and build the structure, culture and capability needed to deliver long-term success.

The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities evolve quickly. You will bring strong commercial judgement, a clear understanding of customers and markets, and the ability to turn strategy into measurable results.

The Role

You will have ownership across the full business, including:

  • Developing and delivering the company's strategy, vision and long-term growth plan
  • Leading overall business performance, commercial growth and operational execution
  • Building strong relationships with partners, investors and other key stakeholders
  • Setting clear objectives, performance measures and accountability across the organisation

  • Using customer and commercial data to guide decisions on growth, retention and lifetime value
  • Identifying new markets, partnerships, products and commercial opportunities
  • Ensuring the business maintains a strong focus on customer experience, quality and innovation
  • Working with the Board on business planning, risk management and strategic decision-making

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You

We are particularly interested in people who have successfully led a growing ecommerce business, division or complex organisation and can demonstrate clear commercial and operational impact.

You will have direct experience in a DTC subscription business, with a solid grasp of retention, cohort behaviour and repeat-purchase economics. Beyond that, you will have a track record of developing and executing business strategy, managing P&L performance and leading teams through growth, transformation or change. Strong financial understanding and the ability to use data to inform decisions will be important, as will the credibility to engage confidently with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will be an inspiring and inclusive leader who creates clarity, builds trust and brings people with them. You will be decisive without being removed from the detail, able to balance short-term delivery with long-term value creation, and comfortable taking ownership in an entrepreneurial environment.
