Job Title: Certification Manager
Location: United Kingdom, Home based
Department: Personal Protection Equipment
Purpose of Position:
We now have an exciting role for a Certification Manager. You will be playing a pivotal role working closely with our testing team and our clients responsible for the effective management and development of a portfolio of Certification Schemes within the Personal Protection Equipment stream, delivering high-quality, “right first time” product evaluation, achieving client satisfaction and achieving its commercial targets.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Manage PPE CE certification schemes
- Carry out on-going surveillance visits and on-site testing where required
- Attend technical meetings and committees where required
- Contribute to the department's income and regulatory requirements
- Be able to read and understand product specifications and directives and discuss at a technical level
- Participate in, maintain and develop BSI activities for UKAS accreditation

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Knowledge of product certification processes
- Knowledge of the PPE Regulation or European Directives in general
- Background in mechanical engineering and/or plastic technologies
- Able to work independently and as part of the team when necessary
- Able to use Microsoft applications and be able to use BSI specific software
- Able to understand systems and processes
- Preferably a Lead Auditor but not essential
- Able to discuss technical issues with customers
- Be able to devise complex test programmes for multiple product projects
- Able to read and understand product specifications
