We are seeking a talented Certified Medical Assistant — with a $3,500 new hire sign-on bonus for this position (also eligible for rehires terminated for over 1 year).
- Hours: 40 hrs/week
- Shift: Day shift (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
- Location: Primary Care – Wareham, MA

Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Office Manager, Clinical Coordinator, or designated supervisor, and adhering to Medical Assistant Group Supervisory Agreement, the Certified Medical Assistant provides diverse medical assisting duties within assigned Medical Offices of Southcoast Physicians Group.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support primary care providers and nurses in patient care and procedures
- Ensure efficient clinic workflow to facilitate smooth patient flow
- Handle telephone communications with patients—including:
- Communicating test results, surgery schedules, and procedures
- Providing crucial counsel and follow-up (under direct supervision)
- Manage Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and other health-related software to:
- Access and update patient information
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and strict patient privacy
- May perform medical interpretation in languages other than English as needed by the practice office

Qualifications
Required:
-
Education equivalent to 4 years of high school, plus specialized medical training or courses

Officially certified as a Medical Assistant via a national third-party certifying body such as:
- AMCA
- AAMA
- AMT
- CCMA (NHA certification)
- NCMA (NCCT certification) (Note: Certification required within 13 months if hired without prior certification.)

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or equivalent medical office practice experience

Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Ability to comply with vaccination policies:
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and COVID-19
- Can also request an approved medical or religious exemption post-hire
Preferred:
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and health software
- One+ year of medical assisting work experience
- Fluent in a language other than English with proven medical interpreting skills
Other practice-specific certifications are a plus based on specialty needs.
