🚀 We’re Hiring: CFD Engineer (Thermal / OpenFOAM)
Voxshell is looking for a CFD Engineer to help build the next generation of AI-powered engineering simulation software.
Company Description
Voxshell is a Cranfield University spin-out building ChopMesh, an automated meshing tool for complex and implicit geometry. Where traditional surface-wrapping approaches fail, our signed-distance-field approach delivers simulation-ready meshes for CFD and FEA — and increasingly, training data for Physics-AI world models. Our software is already in production at aerospace and advanced manufacturing companies, and we’re backed by Innovate UK and private investment. We’re a small, technical team where your work ships fast and matters immediately.
Role Description
Twelve months from now, you'll be the engineer our customers trust to make their thermal simulations work. You'll have run and validated dozens of conjugate heat transfer simulations end-to-end in OpenFOAM using ChopMesh-generated meshes, and transformed customer pilot projects into reference case studies that help win new business. You'll work closely with our CTO and application engineering team, operating at the intersection of product development and customer success.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What we're looking for:
- 3+ years of industrial CFD experience with a focus on thermal analysis (conjugate heat transfer, heat exchangers, thermal management, or similar)
- Strong background in thermal/fluid simulations using OpenFOAM
- Experience with meshing, boundary conditions, solver setup, validation, and post-processing
- Passion for solving real-world engineering challenges
- Solid grounding in fluid dynamics and heat transfer fundamentals
- Able to work directly with customers: understand their problem, communicate results clearly, and be trusted with their geometry and data
What you'll do:
- Own thermal CFD workflows end-to-end: geometry preparation, meshing with ChopMesh, case setup, solving, and post-processing in OpenFOAM
- Run and validate heat transfer simulations for customer pilots and benchmarks
- Support customer evaluations and pilot projects — reproduce their cases, diagnose issues, present results
- Stress-test ChopMesh on hard industrial geometry and work with the development team to close gaps
- Contribute to technical content — validation studies, benchmark reports, conference material
