Lead a volunteer team delivering fun, engaging nutrition and lifestyle activities in schools

Help children make healthier choices, support a friendly charity community, and shape how CFK brings its mission to life. Flexible, supportive, meaningful role.

What difference will you make?

This role is central to how Collaboration for Kids (CFK) brings its mission to life in schools. By leading the delivery of our nutrition and lifestyle activities, you’ll help us reach children at a crucial stage in their development, giving them the knowledge, confidence and encouragement to make healthier choices. Your leadership will directly shape how children experience our programme, helping us create sessions that feel fun, engaging and meaningful.

CFK is a volunteer‑led initiative within the Collaborative Health Community, and we rely on committed, supportive volunteers to make our work possible. As Schools Programme Lead, you’ll help us coordinate our efforts, strengthen our delivery, and ensure our interventions run smoothly. By guiding a small team of volunteers, you’ll help everyone feel confident in their roles and able to contribute positively. This support is essential — it allows us to grow our reach while maintaining the quality and care that families and schools expect from us.

You’ll also help us build strong relationships with schools, teachers and local partners. These relationships are vital to our impact. When schools feel supported and engaged, they’re more likely to welcome our programme, champion our activities and help us reach more children. Your ability to communicate clearly, listen to their needs and represent CFK with warmth and professionalism will help us create lasting partnerships that benefit whole communities.

Another important part of your contribution will be helping us learn from each intervention. By supporting planning, delivery and post‑session reflection, you’ll help us understand what works well and where we can improve. This feedback helps our Content Team refine materials, supports our Research Team in measuring impact, and ensures our programme continues to evolve in ways that genuinely help children and families.

Your involvement also strengthens our capacity as a growing charity. With your support, we can deliver more interventions, explore new school opportunities, and expand into new regions. This helps us reach more children who may be struggling with the effects of ultra‑processed foods or unhealthy lifestyle habits. Every successful intervention contributes to our wider mission of improving children’s physical and mental wellbeing.

What are we looking for?

Experience working with children, teachers, and parents in school settings or a background in education, health, sport, or related areas We welcome experience from a wide range of settings — anything that shows you enjoy supporting children and working with families or schools is helpful.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You’ll work closely with two core teams our Education Content Team, who create the workshop materials and activities, and our Research, Data & Evidencing Team, who help us understand the impact of our work. You don’t need to be a nutrition expert — we’ll provide all the training and resources you need. Your focus will be on coordinating delivery, supporting volunteers, and helping ensure each intervention runs smoothly and feels enjoyable for children, families and teachers.

A key part of your role will be leading and supporting your volunteer team. You’ll help everyone understand their responsibilities, keep them motivated, and make sure they have what they need to deliver sessions confidently. You’ll also bring your own ideas and insights, helping us shape activities so they feel relevant, creative and engaging for the children we work with.

You’ll help build and maintain relationships with schools, teachers and local partners who share our values. This might include arranging visits, discussing upcoming workshops, or exploring new opportunities for CFK to support children in different settings. You’ll act as a friendly ambassador for CFK, helping schools feel supported and excited about working with us.

Project coordination is another important part of the role. You’ll help plan each intervention from start to finish — organising timelines, checking resources, supporting rehearsals, and making sure everyone knows what’s happening and when. After each intervention, you’ll help run a short debrief, sharing what went well, what we learned, and what we can improve next time. This helps us keep developing our programme and ensures children get the best possible experience.

You’ll also represent your team in leadership meetings, sharing updates and helping us stay aligned with CFK’s mission, values and approach. We’ll support you throughout, and you’ll be part of a friendly, collaborative charity community that cares deeply about improving children’s health and wellbeing.

Most of your work will be done from home, with occasional visits to schools in West Sussex, East Hampshire or Greater Manchester if you’re able to travel. The weekly commitment is usually around 5–6 hours, with flexibility depending on what’s happening in the programme. We’ll always plan ahead and work around your availability.

Overall, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, supporting volunteers, and helping create positive change. You’ll have the chance to shape how CFK delivers its mission in schools, develop your leadership and project skills, and be part of a supportive team making a real difference to future generations.
