Chief Financial Officer - PE-Backed Buy & Build

London | £180,000-£200,000 + 30% Bonus + Equity

Cedar is partnered with an ambitious private equity-backed services business to appoint a Chief Financial Officer who will play a central role in delivering its next phase of growth and value creation.

The business is at a pivotal point in its journey. With a significant acquisition pipeline, committed investor backing and substantial further growth planned, it requires a commercially astute and highly capable CFO to build the financial infrastructure needed to support rapid, acquisition-led expansion.

Working in close partnership with the CEO, Board and private equity investors, the CFO will lead the evolution of the finance function and provide the financial leadership, insight and discipline required to execute the buy-and-build strategy successfully.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an ambitious CFO to shape the financial architecture of a scaling group, lead multiple acquisitions and integrations, and participate directly in the equity value created.

The Role

  • Act as a strategic partner to the CEO, Board and investors, providing commercial challenge, financial insight and leadership across the group.
  • Lead and develop the outsourced finance function across Financial Control, FP&A, Treasury and Commercial Finance, creating a scalable model capable of supporting significant growth.
  • Build and embed a best-in-class FP&A capability, improving forecasting, budgeting, KPI reporting and data-led decision-making.
  • Establish robust governance, controls and reporting processes appropriate for a private equity-backed, multi-entity group.
  • Deliver high-quality and insightful board, investor, lender and covenant reporting.
  • Support future funding activity, including debt facilities, refinancing and ongoing lender relationships.
  • Lead the financial workstream across acquisitions, including due diligence, modelling, transaction support, integration planning and post-deal delivery.
  • Drive the successful integration of acquired businesses, standardising reporting, controls, systems and finance processes across the group.
  • Lead the implementation and embedding of a group-wide ERP platform, improving consistency, automation and scalability.
  • Strengthen cash flow forecasting, working capital management and performance visibility across the business.
  • Build a high-performing finance capability that can evolve alongside the organisation's continued growth.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
