Job Title: CFO

Marks Sattin Executive Search is working with a PE-backed B2B technology business that has established a strong position in its market and is entering an important stage of development. The business is seeking an experienced CFO to lead the finance function and work closely with the CEO, Board, and investors as the business continues to scale.

The CFO will be responsible for ensuring the finance function provides the structure, insight, and discipline to support the next stage of growth. This will include overseeing financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and controls, whilst continuing to develop the systems, processes, and team to build a high-performing finance function that can support the business through its next phase.

Working closely with the CEO and leadership team, the CFO will play a key role in shaping and executing the business strategy, providing commercial insight and challenge across key decisions around growth, investment, and resources. The role will have significant exposure to the Board and private equity investors, acting as a key financial and commercial adviser and contributing to the wider strategic direction of the business, including M&A and the identification of opportunities to improve performance and create value.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or ACMA)
  • Proven CFO or Finance Director Experience
    • Within a PE-backed B2B technology, software, services, or similarly fast-moving business
  • Demonstrable Experience
    • Developing finance functions, systems, and processes within a growing business
  • Strong Commercial Understanding
    • Ability to use financial information to influence business decisions, support growth initiatives, and provide clear insight to the Board, investors, and wider stakeholders
  • Experience Supporting M&A Activity
    • Including acquisition evaluation, due diligence, and integration
  • Leadership Style
    • Hands-on and commercially focused
    • Credibility to operate effectively across both strategic and operational matters
