The Deal Maker Role

🔹 Position: Deal Maker (as part of the Priority Deals Team, PDT) 🔹 Focus: Leading large, high-value deals (valued at $25M and above) from initial qualification to contract signing. 🔹 Scope: Engages global clients, leverages Atos’ entire suite of capabilities, and from business development to contract negotiation.

Your core responsibility is to:

  • Build deep client relationships across industries.
  • Understand business complexities and tailor winning strategies (responding to RFPs, ITTs, etc.).
  • Negotiate favourable terms while ensuring Atos’ profitability and client satisfaction.

You’ll act as a strategic owner of the deal process, maintaining alignment with Atos’ governance and internal stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

Revenue Growth & Customer Relationship Management

  • Drive annual services revenue targets by:

    • Expanding existing customer accounts
    • Identifying and pursuing new high-value opportunities
    • Focusing on high-margin service areas, including implementation and solutions development
  • Demonstrate consultative selling skills to:

    • Clearly define customer business needs
    • Devise tailored solutions meeting their objectives

Deal Leadership (End-to-End Ownership)

  • Lead all phases of the sales process:

    1. Qualify deals ($25M+ in total contract value)
    2. Gather client requirements (functional business needs, challenges)
    3. Assemble and lead pursuit teams (to maximise win chances)
    4. Develop differentiated, market-winning proposals
    5. Negotiate contracts for optimal profitability
    6. Sign deals and assure contract compliance
  • Monitor and refine deal health, conducting:

    • Win-loss analysis
    • Competitive benchmarking
    • Market regulatory insights

Collaboration & Execution

  • Work cross-functionally in Atos to:
    • Streamline deal assessment
    • Secure alignment from technical, commercial, and operational teams
  • Act as a client advocate, building trust at all organizational levels.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with Atos’ governance framework (Rainbow Model).

Additional Key Tasks

Client Engagement & Strategy

  • Conduct strategic workshops (win strategy, deal health reviews).
  • Drive executive-level engagement and align cross-functional stakeholder priorities.
  • Continuously monitor deal progress, adjusting pursuits as the sales cycle evolves.

Commercial Strategy

  • Optimal contract negotiation to:
    • Protect important business protections
    • Minimise unnecessary risks
  • Priority given to forensic selling methods and early win opportunities.

Performance & Governance

  • Maintain transparent monthly sales forecasting
  • Update CRM systems in a timely manner
  • Drive the deal health dashboard and cosourcing metrics.

Qualifications & Experience

✅ Minimum experience of 12 years demonstrated expertise in:

  • Building & nurturing relationships with C-level executives
  • A proven track record of closing large, complex deals (typically €10M–€25M+)
  • Public-sector and digital transformation sales experience
  • Proven end-to-end deal ownership—qualification to close
  • Familiarity with multinational contracts and global client organisations

✅ Technical & Soft Skills:

  • Strong competitive positioning and win strategy development
  • Expertise in consultative sales methodologies
  • Ability to articulate Atos’ unique value proposition effectively
  • Experience managing cross-functional client spaces (executive, operational, governance)
