About The Role
Parents 1st UK is seeking an exceptional Chair of the Board of Trustees to provide strategic leadership as the charity enters the next phase of its five-year strategy.
This is a pivotal role for an experienced and values-led leader who can help guide the organisation’s continued growth, strengthen governance, and support the delivery of high-quality perinatal peer support for parents in disadvantaged communities across the UK.
The Chair will lead a skilled and committed Board, working in close partnership with the Chief Executive to provide strategic support, constructive challenge and trusted counsel. Together, they will ensure strong governance, effective decision-making and long-term sustainability.

Parents 1st UK is a national charity providing perinatal peer support during pregnancy, birth and beyond. We work through trusted relationships and innovative approaches, including digital support, to improve outcomes for parents and babies.

About You
We are looking for someone who brings:
- Experience as a charity Trustee (Chair experience not essential)
- Strong strategic leadership and sound judgement
- An inclusive, collaborative leadership style
- The ability to support and constructively challenge a Chief Executive
- A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion
- A genuine passion for improving outcomes for parents and babies
You will be comfortable operating at Board level, able to think strategically, and motivated by the opportunity to contribute to a growing national charity with real social impact.
