Overview

Are you an experienced change management professional who thrives on bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology and human adoption? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the AMRC as our Change Management Lead.

You will join the AMRC at the University of Sheffield, as part of a growing interoperability team currently funded through the leadership of a UKRI Future Leadership Fellow. We are tackling critical barriers preventing organisations from fully realising the benefits of leading-edge technology, such as digital twins and artificial intelligence (AI). The work will include understanding industry system interoperability; unifying and connecting siloed information and infrastructures; and demonstrating the innovation's effectiveness to drive industrial adoption. Whilst the wider project focused on accelerating industrial interoperability, this role is dedicated entirely to the change management required for its successful adoption.

As Change Management Lead, you will ensure new systems and practices are successfully communicated and adopted. With 2-3 years of experience in change management, business analysis, or process improvement, you will bridge the gap between technical implementation and human adoption, analysing how organisations function today versus how they will operate tomorrow.

Please submit a CV and cover letter. In your cover letter, please include brief descriptions of:

  • A time you successfully managed resistance to a new process or tool.
  • An example of how you have mapped or analysed a complex business process (naming the tools used).
  • A cross-functional collaboration experience.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of how users currently operate and collaborate with information systems. Clearly articulate the operational, cultural, and efficiency differences they will experience upon adopting new technical practices and workflows.
  • Utilise process modelling techniques to visually map out existing workflows and design streamlined future-state processes that align with the project's industrial interoperability principles.
  • Develop and implement actionable change management plans to maximise user adoption.
  • Act as a central communication hub, building strong relationships with industrial end-users to ensure all concerns are heard and addressed during transitions.
  • Define and track key metrics to measure the success of adoption efforts and the actual realisation of benefits from the new practices.
  • Design and implement overarching change management and communications strategy.
  • Lead the creation and delivery of effective training programmes, workshops, and coaching sessions to upskill staff on new working practices.
  • Advise senior leadership on organisational readiness and potential risks associated with the cultural shift toward open, interoperable industrial standards and practices.
  • Organise technical alignment meetings and supervise/mentor junior staff.
  • Support partnered organisations and research teams through transition periods, including go-live readiness activities, managing interim workarounds, and ensuring a smooth handover to business-as-usual (BAU) operations supporting industrial adoption.
  • Make ethical decisions in your role, embedding the University's sustainability strategy into your working activities wherever possible.
  • Carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
