We are looking for an experienced Change Manager with a strong background in contractual change, project controls, and commercial project delivery to join our team.
This is a project-focused change management role, responsible for managing contractual and commercial changes throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Management, Commercial, Planning, Cost, and Contract teams to ensure changes are properly identified, assessed, documented, approved, and incorporated into the project baseline.
The role will be critical in ensuring that changes to scope, cost, programme, deliverables, and contractual obligations are clearly understood and effectively controlled.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end contractual change control process across projects and programmes.
- Identify, record, and assess changes arising from scope, design development, client instructions, contractor proposals, unforeseen circumstances, and other project events.
- Ensure all changes are formally documented, tracked, and progressed through the appropriate approval process.
- Work closely with Commercial and Contract Management teams to assess the contractual and commercial implications of proposed changes.
- Coordinate with Planning and Project Controls teams to assess the programme and schedule impact of changes.
- Work with Cost teams to understand and validate the cost impact of changes.
- Ensure changes are appropriately reflected in project baselines, forecasts, and reporting.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date change registers and supporting documentation.
- Track changes from initial identification through assessment, approval, implementation, and close-out.
- Prepare change papers, reports, and recommendations for project and governance review.
- Monitor outstanding changes and ensure actions and approvals are progressed within agreed timescales.
- Review change submissions and supporting information to ensure they are complete, accurate, and properly substantiated.
- Identify potential changes and ensure they are captured early to minimize impact on project delivery.
- Support the assessment of contractor and supplier change requests, variations, and compensation events.
- Ensure contractual notices and change documentation are aligned with relevant contract requirements.
- Provide regular reporting on change status, value, programme impact, trends, and emerging issues.
- Analyse change trends to identify recurring issues, scope gaps, design development, or other drivers of project change.
- Support project teams in maintaining a clear audit trail of all approved and rejected changes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project change control processes, procedures, and governance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
