About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Principal Change Manager to lead and support complex, high-impact organisational change initiatives across a diverse portfolio of transformation activity.
This is a senior change role requiring an individual who can operate confidently at both strategic and delivery levels, working with senior leaders, project and programme teams and operational stakeholders to ensure change is effectively planned, adopted and embedded.
You will play a key role in shaping change strategies, managing organisational impacts, supporting leaders and sponsors, and driving successful adoption and benefits realisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead change management activity across complex, high-impact organisational change initiatives.
- Develop and implement change strategies and plans that support successful adoption and sustainable outcomes.
- Assess the people and organisational impacts of changes to operating models, culture, processes, systems, technology, roles and structures.
- Work closely with senior leaders and executives, supporting them in their roles as sponsors, change owners and leaders of transformation.
- Partner with project, programme and delivery managers to integrate change management activity into delivery plans.
- Identify and manage resistance, adoption risks, dependencies and competing priorities.
- Support benefits realisation, value creation, ROI and the achievement of intended business outcomes.
- Develop and support change agent networks and communities of practice.
- Coach and mentor colleagues, delivery teams, change agents and operational stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of change management frameworks, tools, processes, guidance and training.
- Establish appropriate measures of success and monitor, track and report on progress, risks and issues.
- Provide professional oversight and guidance across change initiatives.

About You
You will be an experienced change professional with a strong track record of delivering complex organisational change in challenging and ambiguous environments.
You will have:
- Significant experience leading complex organisational change initiatives.
- Extensive practical knowledge of change management methodologies, tools and approaches.
- Strong experience in stakeholder engagement, organisational design and adoption strategies.
- Experience working across portfolios and managing complex organisational impacts and dependencies.
- A strong understanding of how change integrates with project and programme delivery.
- Experience operating within portfolio governance environments.
- Excellent consulting, facilitation, coaching and influencing skills.
- Experience defining and measuring change success and tracking benefits and outcomes.
- The ability to work effectively with senior leaders, executives and sponsors.
- Strong judgement and problem-solving skills, particularly where solutions are not predefined.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent active listening and relationship-building skills.
- The resilience and tenacity to navigate complex environments and competing priorities.
- A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to operate effectively in ambiguity.

Qualifications
- A relevant change management qualification such as Prosci, ADKAR or APMG would be advantageous, although equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- Experience across project or programme management methodologies and the project lifecycle would also be beneficial.
What We're Looking For
This role would suit a Principal-level change professional who is comfortable operating strategically while remaining close enough to delivery to make a tangible difference. Public Sector experience will be needed.
