Job Overview
Changing Room Operative is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and well-presented changing room facilities across the Sellafield site. The role supports compliance with site safety requirements and ensures employees and contractors have access to suitable changing facilities when entering and leaving work areas.
- Rate of pay: £17.64 per hour
- Position type: Permanent
- Type of employment: Full time
- Contractual hours: 43 hours per week
- Location: Sellafield, Seascale, Cumbria, England CA20 1PG
Main Duties
- Keep changing rooms and surrounding areas clean, tidy, and safe.
- Work with Health Physics Monitors to follow site and radiological safety procedures.
- Ensure staff have access to clean clothing, PPE, and changing facilities.
- Follow local rules and procedures within each changing room.
- Liaise with the Laundry Team to maintain supplies of clean clothing and remove soiled items.
- Monitor stock levels and replenish clothing, PPE, and consumables as required.
- Collect and dispose of low-level waste (LLW) in line with site procedures.
- Inspect returned clothing and remove any prohibited items.
- Manage locker key access in accordance with approved procedures.
- Support the distribution and collection of coveralls, lab coats, and other workwear.
- Remove damaged clothing, footwear, and PPE from service when required.
- Maintain accurate records and follow all company and site procedures.
- Adhere to health, safety, environmental, and contamination control standards at all times.
